Healthcare Careers that Help Relieve, Recover, and Rejuvenate

If you love helping others and working with your hands, then a career in physical therapy may be right for you. Physical therapists use massage, exercise and other methods to help their patients ease chronic pain and discomfort. Patients seek physical therapy for conditions such as arthritis, spinal cord injuries, strokes, or post operative strengthening. Therapy helps patients live a better, less painful life.

Find a Physical Therapy Job by Earning a Degree

A common way to find a physical therapy job is to enroll in a reputable physical therapy or occupational therapy program. Generally, physical therapy students earn an undergraduate degree in a science field, and then go back to physical therapy school for more study and applied practice.

Before they practice on their own, physical therapy students must log a number of supervised hours and pass regulated industry examinations. This ensures that they have enough practice under their belt before treating their own patients.

Fulfill Physical Therapy School Requirements Online

If you want to become a physical or occupational therapist but don't have the money to spend a number of years in school, you can probably fulfill many of your school requirements online. Distance learning is a way to save money on your degree and balance both your work and academic schedules.

Although you won't be able to earn your physical therapy degree entirely online, you'll find that getting much of your classroom work accomplished in a distance learning program will save you a lot of time and money.
