These five popular careers are in high demand now and will be in the next few years. If you want to edge out the competition for these hot jobs, start a training or degree program now. Get up to date on all the latest advancement in these fields and start an exciting new career.
- Medical Assistant. Though many of us dream of working in medicine, the idea of medical school can be daunting and expensive. However, a growing number of college students have discovered that training for a career as a medical assistant is a fast way to start earning money in the field without accumulating crushing student loans.
- Physical Therapy. Not only can we expect to live longer than ever, we also recover from previously debilitating conditions. Americans' resiliency has created a tremendous demand for licensed physical therapists. Like many medical assistants, many physical therapists love the idea of a medical career but hate the thought of enrolling in medical school.
- Web Development. While veteran web developers were mostly self-taught, today's competitive landscape requires more rigorous training. Degree-holders from top engineering schools enjoy job offers from Google and Yahoo! In many ways, a web development degree offers a short cut to a career in sectors like finance, entertainment, and medicine.
- Software Engineer. As tools like FileMaker and Access let businesses customize their own applications, recruiters hunt for qualified software engineers on college campuses to be able to customize applications for businesses. Whether working in-house at a small company or developing an application used by the broader market, a career as a software engineer can offer personal fulfillment as well as an impressive paycheck.
- Criminal Justice. As government funding creates new jobs for investigators and law enforcement officers, the private sector offers careers in security and law office administration. With a criminal justice degree, you can find a job in any kind of work setting, either behind a desk or in the field.
Getting a degree in one of these five fields should help you keep up with the competition and get your career rolling.
